Samsung OMH Mpower 699 CDMA Mobile Phone Now In India

Samsung the leading mobile handset market player, today commercially launched world’s first OMH CDMA Mobile phone for Indian market. The Samsung Mpower 699 (SCH F699) is now available in India at Rs.7100 which was jointly announced Samsung and Qualcomm  in August 2009.

Samsung Electronics and Qualcomm develops & brings the revolutionary OMH technology, which is now available on the CDMA platform, gives mobile customers the flexibility to buy a CDMA handset and SIM cards from various CDMA operators of their choice.




The Samsung’s Mpower 699 is the world’s first CDMA phone to offer this flexibility to customers since the network settings for the CDMA connection have shifted from the phone to the OMH SIM card. In fact, all Indian CDMA operators are providing a free OMH SIM card with distinct OMH mark along with this Samsung OMH handset in the initial phase.

Mr. Sunil Dutt, Country Head, Samsung Telecom Division, Samsung India Electronics Ltd said “At Samsung, last year we took the first step towards giving consumers flexibility in CDMA by launching our Mpower series handset to work with CDMA connections from operators Reliance Mobile and Tata Indicom . Today, true to our ‘Next is What’ philosophy, we have taken a significant step forward with the launch of the OMH compliant Mpower 699”

In addition to supporting OMH, the Samsung Mpower 699 comes with a 1.3MP Camera with video recording and advanced multimedia features such as audio player, video player and stereo FM radio. The new OMH handset also comes with an advanced Mobile Tracker, dedicated camera key, and a 2GB MicroSD card. The OMH compliant Samsung Mpower 699 is priced at Rs.7100.
