Samsung Galaxy S8+ 128GB Storage Variant Price Slashed by Rs. 4,000 in India; Now Available for Rs. 70,900

It's happening too fast this year. Samsung launched the premium variant of the Galaxy S8+ with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage back on June 1, 2017, in India. Priced at a whopping Rs. 74,990, the device has now received a price cut of Rs. 4,000 and is selling for Rs. 70,900. The slashed price will be effective from today.

This news was posted by the Mumbai-based retailer Mahesh Telecom, saying that the price will be effective from July 7, which is today. However, the standard variants of the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ did not receive any price cut and still costs Rs. 57,900 and Rs. 64,900 respectively. Also, the revised price is yet to be reflected in e-commerce site Flipkart. The price will reflect in a matter of time.

Samsung on June 1 announced the high-end variant of the Galaxy S8+ in India with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The standard variant of the Galaxy S8 and S8+ has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, which is expandable up to 256GB with the microSD card. The rest of the specifications of the premium variant is similar to the ones of standard variant.

The highlight of the Galaxy S8 series is not the hardware, but its QHD+ Infinity display. The S8+ sports a 6.2-inch QHD+ display with an unusual resolution of 1440 x 2960 pixels. It is powered by the Exynos 8895 processor (other countries get the Snapdragon 835 option), paired with Mali G71 MP20 GPU. The device comes with 64GB/128GB storage, but it also has a dedicated microSD card slot for storage expansion.

The Galaxy S8+ has a 12MP rear camera with f/1.7 aperture, Dual Pixel technology, OIS, PDAF, and LED flash. Up front, the phone has an 8MP camera with f/1.7 aperture and autofocus. The device can be unlocked via various methods- fingerprint scanner, IRIS scanner, and the regular Android locking methods.

The S8+ was the first smartphone to ship with Bluetooth 5.0. Other connectivity options include 4G LTE, VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11/b/g/n/ac, Wi-Fi Direct, and GPS. The phone also has heart rate sensor, barometer, and it is IP68 certified as well. There’s a 3500mAh battery powering the Galaxy S8+ which also has support for Quick Charging. The device boots Android 7.0 Nougat with TouchWiz UI on top.
