Samsung India has silently slashed the prices of its two mid-range devices- the Galaxy J7 Pro and the Galaxy J7 Max. The new price of the J7 Pro is Rs 18,900, while the J7 Max will now retail for Rs 14,900. Do make a note that these are new offline prices posted by Mumbai-based retailer Mahesh Telecom. As of this writing, the J7 Pro is retailing for Rs 19,900 and J7 Max for Rs 16,900 in Flipkart. And the phones are available at same prices on Amazon India and Samsung Shop as well. So maybe the new prices will reflect next week, but for now, we don't have any information related to it.
Samsung introduced by the Galaxy J7 Pro and J7 Max back in June 2017 for Rs 20,900 and Rs 17,900 respectively. Back then, the J7 Pro was very well received by the tech community, but the J7 Max was touted as an overpriced product for the specifications it offered. And the highlight of both the phones is Samsung Pay support for the J7 Pro, and Samsung Pay Mini support for the J7 Max. Notably, the J7 Pro was the first Galaxy J series device to feature Samsung Pay. But now, the company has added Samsung Pay Mini feature to almost all the mid-range and budget Galaxy J and On series of phones.
Also, Mahesh Telecom tweeted that the J7 Pro is also available under Paytm Rs 2,000 cashback offer, but that's only for the offline market. Sadly, the Galaxy J7 Max is not under the Paytm cashback offer.
Samsung Galaxy J7 Pro, J7 Max Specifications
Talking about the specifications of the smartphones, the Galaxy J7 Pro has a 5.5-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display and is powered by the Exynos 7870 SoC. It has 3GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, which can be expanded up to 128GB with a microSD card. Samsung has added a 13MP f/1.7 primary camera at the back, along with another 13MP selfie camera to the front. The device is still running Android 7.0 Nougat and has a 3600mAh battery. The J7 Pro also comes with IP54 certification.
Coming to the Galaxy J7 Max, it's an overpriced product by a massive margin. It packs a 5.7-inch Full HD TFT display, not the AMOLED panel like J7 Pro. It is powered by the MediaTek Helio P20 chipset and has 3GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage. It also has a 13MP rear camera and a 13MP front-facing camera. The J7 Max boots Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box and has a 3300mAh battery on board.
