4 Most Noteworthy Features of the Samsung Galaxy A8s: Infinity-O Display, Snapdragon 710 and More

Samsung has been known to test its flagship-level features on its mid-range devices first. A much-hyped feature of the Samsung displays lately has been the Infinity-O display. Out of all the smartphone manufacturers, Samsung is an outlier since it has not joined the league of other brands which ship their phones with a notch in a bid for a higher screen to body ratio. However, the Infinity-O display is Samsung’s way around the notch and a way to provide a large screen to body ratio to its users.

The latest debut by Samsung, the Galaxy A8s is the new phone which features the much talked about Infinity-O display. Not only that, but the phone also comes with much more awaited features. Surprisingly, this time Samsung has done something different and has introduced the new Galaxy A8s without the headphone jack. So, without further ado, let us dive into the details of what the Samsung Galaxy A8s offers in terms of features.

Stunning Looks

On the front of the device, we get to see the Infinity-O panel display with the punch-hole style cutout housing the front camera sensor. On the rear side, the phone sports a smooth glass back finish which speaks nothing but a premium feel. The frame of the phone has been made by aluminium, which not only makes it look good but also adds to the sturdy built of the device. We also get to see the vertically stacked triple rear camera setup with the LED flash, and there is an oval fingerprint sensor placed in the middle.

Triple Rear Camera Setup

The first time when Samsung introduced the triple rear camera setup was in its Samsung Galaxy A7. Now, the South Korean manufacturer has also brought the triple rear camera setup to the Samsung Galaxy A8s as well. This setup consists of the 24MP primary sensor for regular shots, with a f/1.7 aperture which will help the users in clicking decent shots even in low-light conditions. The second sensor on the device is a 10MP telephoto snapper which comes with f/2.4 aperture and assists in 2x optical zoom. The third one is a 5MP sensor with f/2.2 aperture that lends support for bokeh mode, or depth of field effect shots.

Good Quality Selfies

Inside the punch-hole styled cutout of the Infinity-O display, the Samsung Galaxy A8s contains a 24MP front-facing sensor which comes with f/2.0 aperture. This camera is also capable of shooting 1080p videos, along with supporting beautification options and HDR mode.

Impressive Performance

Like we mentioned above, the Galaxy A8s is not a flagship device. However, with that being said, it does full justice to its mid-range price tag by shipping the best mid-range SoC in the market right now, the Snapdragon 710. This new chipset by Qualcomm is a 2.2GHz octa-core processor which is paired with Adreno 616 GPU for graphics. Samsung accompanies this SoC with 8GB of RAM in the top model of the phone, whereas the other variant comes with 6GB of RAM. There is also 128GB of internal storage for both the devices along with the option of using a microSD card for further expansion.
