In addition to announcing the foldable phone, Samsung at the SDC (Samsung Developer Conference) earlier this week, also showcased some of the new Infinity Displays, which the company says will be coming next year. Samsung, however, is yet to reveal the launch details of the phones with these new displays. At SDC, the South Korean smartphone maker has announced four different types of Infinity Displays including Infinity-U, Infinity-V, Infinity-O, and New Infinity. Soon after the announcement was done, a popular industry leakster, who goes by the name Eldar Murtazin, said that the Galaxy A90 and Galaxy A70 would be the first Samsung phones to come with notched Infinity Displays.

Until now, like other smartphone makers, Samsung didn’t bring a notched display phone in the market. But, the Galaxy A70 and Galaxy 90 will start the trend for Samsung. The Galaxy A70 and Galaxy 90 will be the follow-up devices of the recently announced Galaxy A7 and Galaxy A9. Leakster Murtazin, who has often been pretty accurate at leaking information about the unannounced smartphones, soon after the Displays were announced, tweeted that the first notched Infinity Displays will be used in Galaxy A90 and A70. Murtazin, however, didn’t reveal which of the four Infinity Displays will be used in the A70 and A90.

The Galaxy A70, A90 to Be First Notched Display Samsung Phones

Soon after the Samsung Developer Conference ended, the tipster tweeted claiming that the first Galaxy smartphones to have notched display. As of now, not many details about these two smartphones are known, but what we know for sure is that both the Galaxy A70 and Galaxy A90 will be a notch higher in almost every aspect than their predecessors – Galaxy A7 and Galaxy A9.

As for the pricing, the Galaxy A7 and A9 series of phones are not as expensive as the Galaxy S series, which are the flagship smartphones. The same strategy will be applied to the Galaxy A70 and A90 as well. Murtazin notes that the upcoming A70 and A90 smartphones will not be unreasonably expensive.

In addition, another popular leakster, Benjamin Geskin, also agrees that the Galaxy A70 and Galaxy A90 will be the first Galaxy smartphones to feature new Infinity Displays. But Geskin reveals some additional details. The tipster says that the Galaxy A70 and Galaxy A90 will not use the “New Infinity” Display, which comes with an all-screen design. Considering the two Galaxy A series phones will have a mid-range price tag, it could be could use any of the other three announced Infinity Displays -- Infinity-U, Infinity-V, or Infinity-O.

The Infinity-U Display will bring a waterdrop-style to the Samsung phones or a U-shaped notch at the top. Infinity-V Display, on the other hand, will bring a V-shaped notch at the top of the Samsung phone. And lastly, the Infinity-O Display will bring a circular cutout near the top left corner of the phones' display. The fourth one, which is the “New Infinity” Display could first appear in Samsung’s next flagship smartphone which most likely will be the Galaxy S10 series, followed by the 2019 Note series.

Samsung is yet to reveal details about the Galaxy A70 and Galaxy A90 phones. What we know so far is that the A90 is a follow-up device of the A9, while the A70 will be the follow up of the A7. Both the A7 and A9 are announced this year. The key highlights of both these phones are its camera. The Galaxy A7 comes with three cameras, while the Galaxy A9 comes with quad cameras or four cameras on the back.
