The registrations for the service which started on August 15 are still going on, and the service will be rolled out to 1,100 cities in the first phase along with other services like GigaTV, smart home solutions and more. Broadband Service – GigaFiber

Reliance Jio unlike other broadband service providers who use conventional cables will make use of the Fiber optic cables to avail broadband services to the consumers. Like it is the case with Airtel, the Sunil Mittal led telco is being bogged down in the fibre segment despite introducing the V-Fiber technology because of slow scaling. Reliance Jio will take an alternative path and will provide top-notch hardware for the provision of this service, to ensure that customers have access to high-speed internet at their home.

100GB Data No More an Exception

While in the present times, ACT Fibernet and other fibre-based broadband service providers ship 100GB data only in their most expensive offerings or in their top plans, Reliance Jio GigaFiber will likely change this trend. The Mukesh Ambani led telco is expected to offer 100GB data per month in almost all of its plans. In fact, the plans by GigaFiber which will come with a higher subscription cost will bundle much more data than just 100GB data including free content, GigaTV STB and more.

GigaTV Set-Top Box

Reliance Jio GigaFiber will also offer a GigaTV set-top box along with the GigaRouter which will enable the users to access 600 HD channels on their TV using the broadband connection. The GigaRouter by GigaFiber will facilitate transmission of data at 1Gbps speed thus making this TV service possible. This way Reliance Jio is also going to bring a lot of free content on television and is going to avail live TV, movies and its other applications to the users on their television screen.

Smart Home Solutions

Besides the GigaTV and GigaRouter, Reliance Jio has also introduced a range of smart home solution products which will help the consumers in making their home into a smart home which is more secure and digitally connected. Under this tag, Reliance Jio will be offering smoke detectors, smart locks, CCTV cameras and much more, all of which will be controllable by the MyJio application on the users’ phones.

Reliance JioGigaFiber Preview Offer

As we reported a few days back, Jio to offer free GigaFiber connection to the users, as part of which the telco will provide free 100 Mbps connection with 100GB FUP every month. On top of that, users will be able to enjoy high-speed data with by topping up 40GB add-ons via MyJio app or Jio.com.

Other Jio Products

Additionally, Jio is not looking to stay limited just in the field of broadband and telecom but is also planning to venture into tech and Virtual Reality. To make this possible, the Mukesh Ambani led telco is going to launch a new VR headset also which will be usable with the high-speed broadband services being provided by the company.

Jio GigaFiber Plans

As of right now, there has been no official word by the company regarding the pricing of its plans. However, the speculations regarding Jio GigaFiber say that the plans will be priced starting at Rs 500 and they will offer 100GB data per month with speeds going as high as 100 Mbps.
