India's Department of Telecom (DoT) has issued 2.2 crore mobile numbers to Pan India BWA 4G spectrum and license holder Reliance Jio Infocomm (RJIL) which paves way for the company to launch its 4G services.
Mukesh Ambani led Reliance Jio Infocomm (RJIL) rapidly deploying its infrastructure across 20 cities initially and set to launch its 4G LTE service for mobile customers over LTE enabled smart-phones as well as Only data customer via 4G dongles.
According to our sources, DoT allocates 22 million numbers (2.2 crore numbers) in 70 series for all 22 circles to Reliance Jio Infocomm to launch its 4G services.
The number series were issued to RJIL on the subsequent day after its signing the Network Infrastructure Sharing agreement with Bharti Airtel.With this deal, RJIL in future can also have access to 2G and 3G airwaves, OFC network held by Airtel in all circles. Bhari Airtel, on the other hand, can access the RJIL's 4G spectrum in areas where it does not hold these airwaves to offer seamless 4G coverage to its customers across India.

RJIL also tested some 4G LTE smartphones from Samsung, LG, ZTE, Huawei and other Indian smartphone vendors such as Micromax on its 4G LTE network and may offer Co-branded Smartphones, Internet Access Devises - Tablet with reverse bundling offers.
