Xiaomi Redmi K30 4G Variant Officially Confirmed to Launch on December 10

Xiaomi Redmi K30 will be launching in both 4G and 5G variants on December 10. The Chinese brand already confirmed the Redmi K30 would launch with Snapdragon 765 SoC that was unveiled by Qualcomm just a couple of days ago. Xiaomi will not be able to bring the same 5G variant to every country besides China and some European markets. So the company has officially confirmed that there will be a 4G variant of the Redmi K30 which will be launched alongside the 5G model on December 10. Lu Weibing, General Manager of Redmi, confirmed this news on Weibo. Even before the official confirmation, the Redmi K30 4G variant was in the news and this variant could reach the Indian market early in 2020.

Xiaomi Redmi K30 4G: What We Know So Far

The Redmi K30 will be the first phone in the world to make use of Snapdragon 765 chipset from Qualcomm. The newly launched Snapdragon 765 SoC comes with 5G modem integrated, so there are some chances that the company will not use the same chipset on the 4G variant. Going by the rumours, the Redmi K30 4G will make use of the Snapdragon 730G chipset. To recall, the Redmi K20 arrived with Snapdragon 730 SoC on board, so the 730G will be a minor upgrade over its predecessor.

But Xiaomi is preparing some other major upgrades on the Redmi K30 compared to the Redmi K20. The phone is said to have an LCD panel, but Xiaomi is rumoured to add 120Hz refresh rate to take on the competitors. The Redmi K30 is also said to come with 4500mAh battery and 30W fast charging support which will charge the device from 0 to 100% in just one hour.

Besides, we may see the Redmi K30 4G featuring Sony IMX686 sensor, along with other three sensors. The design of the 4G variant will be identical to the Redmi K30 5G. Also, the 4G variant may come with base 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, while the 5G variant could have 128GB of internal storage even on the base model.

When Will Xiaomi Bring the Redmi K30 to India?

Now the biggest question from Indian consumers will be the launch of the Redmi K30 in the sub-continent. Xiaomi India did not confirm when it's going to bring the handset to the country, but considering the success of Redmi K20 series, we may see the brand launching it in early 2020 or by the end of this year itself. Do make a note that the Redmi K30 4G variant will reach the Indian market and not the model with Snapdragon 765 SoC as Indian telcos are yet to reveal their 5G network launch roadmap.

The Redmi K30 will be a great competitor to the upcoming Realme XT 730G. However, to counter the upcoming phone from Realme, Xiaomi is bringing the Mi Note 10 to the Indian market. The Mi Note 10 is the world's first 108MP Penta-camera phone and it's good to see Xiaomi launching models under the Mi brand as well. In 2019, Xiaomi launched only one phone under the Mi branding and it's the Mi A3. Xiaomi even decided to ditch the Mi Max series entirely as the normal smartphone screen size has reached 6.5-inches.

The Mi Note 10 may not be priced competitively considering it's coming from the parent brand itself.
