Upcoming Redmi Flagship Phone Revealed to Come with Android Q Beta

Amongst the most prominent announcement for the Google I/O 2019 conference, one of the major ones has been about the Android Q Beta. Google announced that it would be making the latest Beta version of the next Android available to the owners of 21 smartphones from 13 brands. These brands included the likes of HMD Global and OnePlus. However, two phones from Xiaomi, the Mi 9 and the Mi MIX 3 5G will both be getting this new update as well. On the same lines, another upcoming smartphone from Redmi, which is going to the Xiaomi flagship will also be getting the Android Q beta as per the words of Redmi CEO Lu Weibing.




New Android Q Beta on Upcoming Redmi Flagship Device

In the past few days, we have already seen a lot of leaks related to the upcoming flagship phone from Xiaomi. There has also been a video leak about this phone which has revealed a lot about this device. The major highlight of this phone has been the Snapdragon 855 SoC and also the phone has been touted to come with a pop-up selfie camera. The launch date of the device has been set as May 14 when it will go live in China. However, there is also a new update from Tang Mu, General Manager of Xiaomi Smart Hardware Division, which points out that the new phone could also be launched on May 13. When the phone debuts, although it will boot the Android 9 Pie out-of-the-box, the Android Q will be an option for the developers or advanced users.

Another report from Gizmochina has updated that the company might launch another device with the upcoming flagship smartphone from Redmi, but there is no clarity as to what device this is going to be. Speculations suggest that we might get to see some IoT powered devices. Some other leaks online have revealed the protective cover of the alleged Redmi K20 Pro smartphone which is being expected to be the Redmi flagship phone.

Rumoured Specifications of Redmi Flagship Smartphone

As for the specifications of the device, we know that the Redmi flagship will come with the Snapdragon 855 SoC. The primary camera on the rear of the device has been touted to be a 48MP sensor. The display of the phone is expected to be a big 6.3-inch AMOLED screen which will sport a Full-HD+ resolution. Also, in an image updated by the Redmi CEO which was a screenshot from this device, it was hinted that the phone would come with an in-display fingerprint sensor.

The battery on this device is likely to be a 4,000mAh one as is the case with other Xiaomi smartphones. The phone will also most likely offer 27W fast charging. As per other reports, the Redmi flagship is expected to retain the 3.5mm headphone jack. In the coming days, Xiaomi is also expected to unveil another device which would come with a Snapdragon 700 series chipset and this phone is being speculated to be the Mi A3.
