Redmi 8 and Redmi 8A Users Can Now Enjoy New MIUI 11 As Update Rolls Out Ahead of Schedule

Xiaomi has been working on rolling out its latest ROM to the majority of devices. The new MIUI 11 comes with lots of changes and updates over its previous version. Until now, the MIUI 11 has been rolled out to a bunch of popular smartphones which includes the likes of Redmi Y3, Redmi 7, Redmi K20 Pro and more. However, the buyers of the budget segment, Redmi 8 and Redmi 8A have also been in the queue waiting for the rollout of this new update so that they can experience the new features. Now, Xiaomi had previously announced that the MIUI 11 for these two smartphones, Redmi 8 and the Redmi 8A would come to the phones on November 13. However, the Redmi 8 and the Redmi 8A users will be happy to know that the MIUI 11 has arrived on these phones before its set time and it is now available for update. But, even though the latest MIUI 11 is available for Redmi 8 and the Redmi 8A, it should be noted by the users that it is still not based on top of Android 10, but it runs on the Android 9 Pie only.


Redmi 8 and Redmi 8A MIUI 11 Update Package Details

The news about the arrival of the MIUI 11 on the Redmi 8 and Redmi 8A comes from many users of these devices who have informed of the arrival of the new update on their devices on the MIUI forum. As the per the users who have written about the new MIUI 11, the update package for Redmi 8A comes in a 544MB package and it has the version number v11.0.1.PCPINXM, whereas, for the Redmi 8, the package size of the update is 600MB, and the version number of the update is v11.0.1.PCNINXM. As usual, this is going to be a phased rollout for the users, meaning that all the users might get the update right away and some might have to wait for it a little bit.

Changes in MIUI 11

Speaking of the changes which Xiaomi has introduced in the MIUI 11, the users of Redmi 8 and the Redmi 8A will definitely be pleased to see the new MIUI as it comes with much less clutter as compared to MIUI 10. Some more additions on the MIUI 11 include the addition of nature sounds for alarm notification, and with this, MIUI 11 also enables dynamic music feature for notifications. Now the in-house developed, Mi Share features comes pre-installed on the MIUI 11 which makes it easy for the users to transfer files at high speed without needing to download an additional application to transfer files with other nearby devices. There is also a new document preview feature, which as the name suggests, lets the users preview a document quickly before actually opening it.

The MIUI 11 also brings on board the Game Turbo feature which notches up the performance for games. In addition to this, there is also a quick reply feature for the social media and messaging applications, and the Notes app has undergone an update. Lastly, there is also a quick print tool in the MIUI 11, which allows the users to generate a print with a printer connected to the Wi-Fi without needing to download any additional third-party application. In case, you are a Redmi 8 or Redmi 8A user, and you have not been notified about the update, then you can go to Settings > About Phone and System Update to check whether or not the update is available for your yet.
