Twitter's live video streaming app Periscope is finally available on Android. The app is available for both, smartphones as well as tablets, and comes with full Material UI design that debuted with Android 5.0 Lollipop. Prior to this, the app was only available for the Apple iPhone, and the company hasn't specified any launch plans for Windows devices.

Periscope App For Android

Earlier this month, Periscope's competitor – Meerkat – went out of beta phase on the Google Play Store, so it was pretty natural for Periscope to launch the official app on Android. Both the apps let users live stream videos that can be accessed by people all over the world.

Users need to have Android 4.4 and above devices to be able to install the app, so if you have a device that runs a version of Android below KitKat, you are out of luck. However, you can then install Meerkat, which is compatible with devices that run Android 4.3 and above, to live stream videos.
