The application also brings in a new tab called the Recents which will make navigation within the application smoother, apart from this, the app has seen some significant changes in the backend too. Below are some major highlights about the update:

The new Home Screen
Paytm has toned down the Home Screen of the app which will show the recommendations of merchants and Payment options based on our previous usage only. The rest of the categories will be housed in the second row under the View All button. The aforementioned Recent capability will also work in the same manner, with the app displaying the most frequently used category and payment options showing up at the top.

Changes in Money Transfer
This happens to be one of the most required updates in the Paytm app as the developers have finally made it extremely simple for the app to transfer funds. The application doesn’t only offer wallet to wallet transfer but can also now directly transfer funds to accounts. The users can also add beneficiaries, UPI addresses and Aadhar numbers etc. With this major revamp Paytm has essentially made money transfer easy and largely effortless.

New Passbook
The older passbook format which used to display information in a sort of cluttered manner has been done with. This time the company has made a change for good in the Passbook section which now displays the past transactions and other related details to the user. Now the new Passbook will display all the details in a snapshot. The details will include information like Savings Account, Fixed Deposit, UPI, Wallet, Food Wallet, Gift Wallet and more.

New Profile Section
The Profile section of the Paytm application has also gone through a transformation by the hands of developers. We get to see a major update to the QR code, where now users can chat with someone and send money, also the app will now store previous scans on the device to easily repeat previous payments. The new update will allow the users to save their QR code to the gallery, which will make it easier to share payment information.

Paytm’s cashback offers, which have been a steal deal for many users given that the payment giant has been coming up with a lot of lucrative offers to lure in customers, will also be fashioned in the profile section now. The cashback offers will also be customised depending on the user’s preferences. On the lower section of the same page, several videos about how to use the application will be listed for the convenience of new users of the app.

The new version of the app is rolling out to iOS users and Android Beta users at the moment.
