Panasonic has unveiled another device in its Eluga series of smartphones, named as Eluga Icon, at a price of Rs. 10,999. The device will be available in Gold and Slate colors, exclusively through Amazon India.

Panasonic Eluga Icon

The Panasonic Eluga Icon features a 5.5-inch OGS display with a resolution of 720x1280 pixels, and is powered by a 1.5GHz octa-core processor paired with 2GB of RAM. It packs in a 3,500mAh battery, which is touted by the company to last longer. The phone runs Android 4.4 KitKat with Icon UI on top, and has 16GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD card. It comes with a 13-megapixel camera on the rear with LED flash, and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera.

In terms of connectivity, the device supports dual-SIM, 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, USB OTG, and MediaTek HotKnot file transfer (like NFC). Given the price and specifications, the Eluga Icon seems to be competing against recently launched smartphones such as Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G (Rs. 7,999), Motorola Moto G 3rd Gen (Rs. 11,999), and Lenovo K3 Note (Rs. 9,999).

Commenting on the launch, Manish Sharma, Managing Director, Panasonic India said "Panasonic India has exclusively tied up with Amazon in order to cater to the changing needs of the Indian consumers. With an aim to make technology accessible to all, this partnership not only reinforces our commitment to meet the consumer demands on-the-go but also amplifies our reach to a larger audience."
