Telecom subscriber base grows to 987.31 million, BSNL registers negative growth

At the end of February 2015, total telephone connections in country increased to 987.31 million from 979.21 million at the end of January 2015. Supreme Court yet to decide on telecom license plea

The trial on the extension of telecom licenses to use 900MHz spectrum was held today at Supreme Court. However, the court reserved its decision on the same to a later date. India has 69.7 crore GSM cellular subscribers as of FEB: COAI

Cellular Operator Association of India (COAI) said that the number of all India GSM cellular subscriber base reached 69.70 crore, an increase of 1.40 percent, in February.With this, GSM mobile operators added 95.94 lakh more subscribers at the month end.
