The current OnePlus flagship phones, the OnePlus 7 and the OnePlus 7 Pro have started receiving the Android 10 Open Beta update today. The OxygenOS Open Beta 1 update which brings Android 10 onboard these devices also brings the September 2019 Android Security Patch to the phones. The update has started rolling out globally for both OnePlus 7 and the OnePlus 7 Pro, including India also. As part of the update, the phone will get new UI redesign, full-screen gestures, a new Game Space feature, enhanced privacy control, icon shape customisation feature and a spam-blocking tool which will be keyword based. The major highlight of this update remains the arrival of Android 10 on these two smartphones and of course, the features which they bring along.

OxygenOS Open Beta 1 Comes with September 2019 Security Patch

The information about this new update on the OnePlus 7 series was posted on the official OnePlus forum. The post informed that the OxygenOS Open Beta 1 is available for download for OnePlus 7 series phones in India as well. This update is crucial because it brings the September Security patch onboard the OnePlus 7 devices and also brings a lot of new features, not to mention Android 10 as well. A new innovative feature that the new OxygenOS version brings onboard these devices is the customisation tool that will allow the users to tweak the icons to their liking, which appear in the Quick Settings section.

Full-Screen Gesture Navigation and Game Space Feature

Another feature which will now be available on the OnePlus 7 and the OnePlus 7 Pro is something that is unique to Android 10, and it is the full-screen gesture navigation system. The full-screen gesture navigation which comes as part of the OxygenOS Open Beta 1 will allow the users to swipe back from either side of the screen to execute the back action. Also, the users can swipe left or right on the bar at the bottom to switch between the applications. The enhanced privacy controls are also something that were to come as part of Android 10 and these features also make their way to the OnePlus 7 and the OnePlus 7 Pro, for example, managing location access permission granted to apps have also been added.

The OxygenOS Open Beta 1 also brings the Game Space feature which is essentially similar to a game launcher. The Game Space feature lists all the games at the same place and also claims to provide a better gaming experience. The OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro will now also display information based on specific time, events and locations. This new feature will make its place on the Ambient Display of the devices. The users will also be able to block spam messages on their OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro devices using the new tool which will enable spam blocking based on keywords. To do that, the users can go to the ‘Blocking Sections’ in the Settings menu of the messaging application.
