OnePlus’ latest flagship phone, the OnePlus 6T recently received the OxygenOS 9.0.6 update, and it brings onboard many new improvements like better image processing and a more optimised unlocking experience. Like every other update, this OxygenOS update also ships some general bug fixes and enhancements. Notably, this update comes days after the OxygenOS 9.0.5 update which brought improvements to the in-display fingerprint sensor and some tweaks on the backend. On a similar note, the Chinese OEM also announced the launch of the Thunder Purple variant of the OnePlus 6T

this month which comes with a beautiful gradient finish.

Bug Fixes and Improvements to Fingerprint Unlock Experience

OnePlus took to the official OnePlus forum and posted about the latest OxygenOS 9.0.6 saying that with this new update, the company has tweaked the unlocking experience on the phone through the in-display fingerprint sensor which remains one the selling points of the phone. In the forum post, the company has also talked about a better image optimisation which would result in a slight improvement in the camera department. Other improvements which come as part of the OxygenOS 9.0.6 include the optimisation of the standby power consumption and bug fixes related to adding an APN on the Verizon network. Also, many OnePlus users had pointed out a bug which was restricting notifications from Google Play, which has also been worked upon by the company. Further, the official change-log from OnePlus points towards pretty standard bug fixes and improvements.

Like every time, OnePlus has relied upon its close-knit community of users the inputs from which has helped the company in developing these improvements and fixes. It’s also worth noting that like the other updates from OEM, this OxygenOS 9.0.6 will be rolled out in phases. Initially, the update will be rolled out to a handful of users, and then a broader rollout of the update will take place.

How to Check For Update on OnePlus 6T

In case you’re a OnePlus 6T user, and you want to check for this update, you can head over to Settings > System Updates and then check for updates. We recommend that you back up your data before proceeding with the update to avoid any data loss.

To recall, earlier this month, OnePlus had rolled out the OxygenOS 9.0.5 update which was also incremental and brought improvements for screen unlock experience and some undefined bug fixes. The update was seen to be 95MB in size and was also rolled out in a similarly phased manner as the latest OxygenOS 9.0.6.
