Since its entry in India in January 2014, Oppo has been consistently launching smartphones in the market. It has already launched the Oppo N1, Oppo R1, Oppo Neo and Oppo Find 5 Mini but has not been able to gain any traction from the Indian consumers. All of these launches have been in the mid and high price range. But a maximum amount of sales in India happen in the entry-level price range. Now Oppo wants to target this market to gain some traction by launching the Oppo Joy at a price of Rs 8,990. It comes with a 4 inch WVGA screen, a 1.3 GHz dual-core MediaTek processor, 512 MB of RAM and a 3 MP primary camera.
when you consider the Xolo Q900 and the Nokia Lumia 525, the Oppo Joy isn’t on par with other devices in its price range. Even Motorola is supposed to launch their cheapest smartphone in the market in the form of Moto E which comes with a 4.3 inch qHD screen, 1.2 GHz dual-core processor, 1 GB of RAM, 4 GB of internal storage, Android 4.4.2 KitKat and a 1900 mAh battery. There is no single reason we see why people shouldn’t choose Moto E, Lumia 520 or Xolo Q900 over the Oppo Joy.
