OnePlus One is still unavailable in a lot of countries, including India, but the company has revealed its plans about the successor to its maiden smartphone. In a Reddit AMA (As Me Anything) session, Carl Pei from OnePlus mentioned that they are already working on the successor of the OnePlus One and it might be released Q2 or Q3 of 2015. We can safely presume that the next flagship smartphone from OnePlus might be called the OnePlus Two.
The device will mostly come with Android L pre-installed. It is possible that OnePlus Two might feature a 64-bit Snapdragon 810 processor with Adreno 430 GPU to fully utilise a 64-bit ART runtime compiler. It might also use a next generation IMX240 from Sony with OIS which features a resolution of 16MP.
OnePlus 2 should be out in Q2 or Q3 of 2015. By that time, I'd think Android L would be standard. :)
We've seen a lot of people asking for a smaller device, and want to let everyone know that we hear you. We're thinking about it.
They also revealed that a lot of people are requesting a phone with a smaller display and they are actively thinking about giving people what they want. But they didn't mention whether a phone with a smaller display will be OnePlus Two or a separate phone itself, OnePlus Two Mini anyone?
OnePlus might enter the Indian market by the end of 2014 with OnePlus One and will only sell devices through pre-order as they are ditching the invite system very soon.
