OnePlus has just announced the Android 15 based OxygenOS 15. The new software's beta version will roll out starting October 30, 2024. OxygenOS 15 brings a lot of new stuff for the consumers. New AI features, parallel processing, enhanced security, and a fresh user experience is what you will get with the new software from OnePlus. Also, now Gemini will be the default AI (artificial intelligence) assistant for the users. However, this is something you can also do with the OxygenOS 14. OxygenOS 15 New Features
Paralell Processing - OnePlus has announced that for the first time, it is introducing parallel processing. For this feature, OnePlus said, "Whether opening and switching between more than 20 applications continuously or managing typical system-level operations, OxygenOS 15 delivers a consistently stable and smooth experience, showcasing a unique capability in the industry."
In addition, what's interesting to note is that OxygenOS 15 achieves a remarkable reduction in system storage, shrinking by nearly 20% compared to OxygenOS 14 on OnePlus 12.

New AI Tools for Productivity - OnePlus has said that its new AI tools with OxygenOS 15 will enable users in boosting their productivity. There's AI Detail Boost which will transform low-resolution or cropped images into 4K visuals in seconds. It is seamlessly integrated into the Photo album.
There will be AI Unblur with which users will be able to enhance visuals for blurry images. Then there is AI Reflection Eraser which removes strong nd subtle reflections with a single tap, restoring natural, realistic content.
Google's Circle to Search feature will also come into the OnePlus devices with the OxygenOS 15. It helps with searching about products, places, or objects in real time. Circle to Search is an Android feature that is already available on other smartphones such as Galaxy S24 Ultra, and more.
With Intelligent Search feature, users will be able to leverage AI to improve on-device search with human-like conversations. There's Pass Scan which will enable users to quickly scan paper or digital boarding passes. Then with AI Notes, formatting, expanding or reducing content, adjusting formality becomes super easy and convenient. Additionally, AI notes are also voice-powered, allowing you to simply speak your thoughts. In mere seconds, AI Notes transcribe your words and even remove unnecessary fillers.
AI Reply is also integrated into the OS. With the AI Reply, you can reply quickly to your friends and family with contextually generated replies from the system. As mentioned above, Google's Gemini becomes the default virtual assistant here.
Fresh User Experience - In a bid to deliver a fresh experience to users, OnePlus has integrated a brand new boot animation, more shelf card choices, additional fingerprint unlock options, and more.
"OnePlus has implemented comprehensive Shimmering Effects and Gaussian Blur across various system scenarios, crafting a natural and harmonious visual experience. Additionally, elements such as settings, notification bars, and control centers have been streamlined, merging an immersive experience with utmost elegance," OnePlus said in a release.
The Open Canvas feature is now available in more candybar OnePlus devices, making multitasking a convenient thing on smartphones. Along with that, OnePlus has also brought a new "Share with iPhone" feature that will enable transferring data from OnePlus devices to iPhone very simple.
The lock screen has been redesigned to offer a better visual experience to the users.
Enhanced Security - OnePlus has also focused on enhancing security for the users with the OxygenOS 15. OnePlus devices runnning OxygenOS 15 will leverage Google Play Protect Live threat detection to analyse app behavior and detect potential malware and help ensure the safety of your device. To disable FindMyDevice or other security features, now biometric authentication will be required.
"OxygenOS 15 also introduces comprehensive theft protection mechanisms with Android to help protect your device and data before, during, and after theft. When movements typical of theft, such as someone suddenly taking your device and trying to run away, are detected, the device automatically locks.
Additional protections include a remote lock feature, which allows users to lock their phone using only their phone number without needing to log in to a Google account. and an offline lock to protect you if a thief tries to take your device offline to extract data is activated if the phone remains offline for a prolonged period of time," OnePlus said.
