Following the recent revelation about an upcoming OnePlus device by Qualcomm, OnePlus has officially announced the launch date for its next Snapdragon 821-based smartphone. The phone will be made official on November 15 at 1 PM EST (11:30 PM IST). The event will be live-streamed on OnePlus's Facebook page.
The teaser video does not reveal much about the phone except for its launch date. OnePlus has not officially confirmed the name of the device, which leaves us with the rumored "OnePlus 3T". Also, the teaser video not so subtly shows off a "T" which could be a hint that the device could be named as the OnePlus 3T. With the new chipset, we could see a performance boost of up to 10 percent on the OnePlus 3T when compared to OnePlus 3.
The Snapdragon 821 chipset on the OnePlus 3T is anticipated to come clubbed with 6GB of RAM. OnePlus might launch the device with two internal storage options - 64GB/128GB. For pricing, it is expected to be priced at $479 (approx. Rs. 32,100), which is $80 costlier than the OnePlus 3, which debuted in India at Rs. 27,999.
Many of the previous reports implied that the OnePlus 3T is an improved version of the OnePlus 3. It will run Android 7.0 Nougat, and its high-end chipset would make it somewhat stronger than the OnePlus 3 that uses Snapdragon 820 SoC. Rest of the features are expected to stay identical to the previous model, such as 5.5-inch full HD 1080p display, 64GB storage, 6GB of RAM, and 3000 mAh battery.
All the speculations about the specs will come to an end November 15 when OnePlus makes the phone official. Until then, take all rumors with a pinch of salt.
