OnePlus has officially introduced its first flagship smartphone of 2018, the OnePlus 6 at an event in London. There's nothing much new about the smartphone as we have been hearing about it since the last couple of months. The phone sports a glass back and OnePlus claims they've given a Ceramic feel to the back by using glass materials itself. And it's fair to say the OnePlus 6 spec-sheet doesn't have anything fancy and there isn't a huge price bump as well. The company has done the same thing what it has been doing over the last few years. Internationally, the OnePlus 6 starts at $529 and goes up to $629 for the premium variant with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.

OnePlus 6 Specifications
The OnePlus 6 is radically different from its predecessors- OnePlus 5 and 5T. OnePlus took a huge leap forward and went with glass back on the device, which keeps the device in-line with the Samsung Galaxies and Apple iPhones out there. The phone sports a 6.28-inch Optic AMOLED display with a notch and 19:9 aspect ratio. The screen offers a resolution of 1080 x 2280 pixels and it's protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass 5 technology.

Under the hood, the device has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset, mated with 6GB/8GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB/256GB of internal storage. As always, the device lacks a microSD card slot, but it does come with dual-SIM card slots. There's the Adreno 630 GPU to handle the graphic intensive tasks. OnePlus introduced the device in three colour options- Mirror Black, Midnight Black and Silk White. The 64GB storage option comes in the single Mirror Black colour option, while the 128GB with 8GB of RAM option will be available in all the three colour variants. Lastly, the premium 8GB of RAM and 256GB storage variant will be available in just Midnight Black colour option.

OnePlus used LPDDR4X RAM module in the smartphone. OnePlus is touting a lot about the cameras of the OnePlus 6. The device sports a primary 16MP Sony IMX519 sensor at the back with f/1.7 aperture and 1.22-micron pixels. The primary camera is paired with a 20MP Sony IMX376k sensor which also comes with f/1.7 aperture. Finally, OnePlus has decided to add Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) and Electronic Image Stabilisation (EIS) onto its device. The OnePlus 6 has support for both OIS and EIS, along with slow-motion video recording at 480fps. The device is capable of recording 4K videos at 60fps. Selfie camera on the OnePlus 6 includes a 16MP Sony IMX371 unit with 1080p video recording. Both the front and rear cameras offer Portrait mode, but the former will be rolled in the future with a software update.

Unlike OnePlus teased, the device doesn't sport any IP certification instead, it just comes with Splash resistance. The phone offers both face unlock and a fingerprint scanner which is located to the back. It measures 7.75mm in thickness and weighs 177grams.

Other features in the smartphone include 4CA with up to 1 Gbps downlink speeds, 2x2 MIMO, 40 global bands, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, aptX HD and USB Type-C 2.0 port. The device boots Android 8.1 Oreo-based OxygenOS ROM on top. It's backed by a 3300mAh battery and comes with Dash Charge support as well.

OnePlus will be announcing the price of the smartphone for the Indian market at its event in Mumbai tomorrow. It's expected to cost Rs 34,999 in the country for the base variant and might go up to Rs 43,999.
