When the OnePlus 6 arrived in the Indian market a few months ago, it took the smartphone market by storm with its very attractive pricing and premium offerings. The OnePlus 6 debuted with top-notch specs, camera and the very popular OxygenOS with a price tag which was extremely appealing to the masses. Now to breathe some life back into the sales of the OnePlus flagship of 2018, the OnePlus 6 will be selling with a whopping discount of Rs 5,000 during the Amazon Great Indian Festival sale on Amazon. OnePlus confirmed that all the three variants of OnePlus 6 would be available at a discount of Rs 5,000- for the first time.

To recall, the original price of the OnePlus 6 on Amazon is Rs 34,999 right now. However, after this discount which will begin on October 10, the OnePlus 6 will be retailing with a price tag of Rs 29,999. After adding a few more discounts which will be up on Amazon for eligible customers, the OnePlus 6 will be available for an effective price of Rs 27,000. Interested buyers should note that the Great Indian Festival sale will be live on Amazon for five days and the offer will be applicable on OnePlus 6 until stocks last. Below are the details of the discount offer.

OnePlus 6 for Rs 27,999: Offer Details

During the Amazon Great Indian Festival Sale, the 6GB RAM and 64GB storage variant of the OnePlus 6, which originally retails for Rs 34,999 will be available for Rs 29,999. The Rs 5,000 discount will be available starting October 10 to October 15. On top of the Rs 5,000 discount, SBI card holders will be eligible for instant 10% discount meaning that SBI card holders will be able to redeem an additional Rs 3,000 discount over the Rs 29,999 price tag bringing down the effective price of OnePlus 6 down to Rs 27,000. At this price range, the OnePlus 6 proves to be a worthier buy as compared to the new Snapdragon 845 SoC phone, the Poco F1.

Further, the other variants of the OnePlus 6 will also be available with a discount during the Great Indian Festival Sale on Amazon. The OnePlus 6 with 128GB storage + 8GB RAM will retail for Rs 34,999 while the variant with 8GB RAM + 256GB storage will be retailing for Rs 38,999.

Buy OnePlus 6 or Wait for OnePlus 6T?

A lot of you might think whether or not the OnePlus 6 will be a good buy especially considering that the OnePlus 6T is right around the corner. However, interested buyers should note that since the OnePlus 6T comes with a lot of upgrades like the in-display fingerprint scanner and waterdrop styled notch, it is expected to be priced more than the OnePlus 6, and it definitely won’t arrive in the market with a Rs 27,000 price tag or the standard discounted price of Rs 29,999. The OnePlus 6T is also going to be the first OnePlus phone to be ditching the 3.5mm headphone jack, which again is a thing to consider as this step is bound to have some backlash from the fans of the brand. So still that's something which might push a lot of buyers towards the OnePlus 6 instead of the upgraded OnePlus 6T.

Lastly, the OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T will bear zero to little difference when it comes to performance. On top of that, OnePlus 6 is also one of those rare phones to join the leagues of Google Pixel lineup, and it comes with Android 9 Pie out of the box. So apart from the apparent differences of design, fingerprint sensor and the headphone jack, the OnePlus 6 trumps this comparison especially considering the price tag of Rs 27,000.
