Bharti Airtel is actively expanding the list of VoLTE supported smartphones on its network. Airtel, on its website, has updated the list of smartphones with Airtel VoLTE support. Finally, Airtel has expanded support for OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T, after most of the OnePlus smartphone users asking for the support. Alongside OnePlus devices, there are a number of Xiaomi devices such as Xiaomi Redmi 5A, Mi Mix 2 which can be found on the updated list.

Earlier, Airtel VoLTE support was available for two OnePlus devices- OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T and three Xiaomi devices- Mi Max, Redmi Note 4, and Mi 5. However, ten Xiaomi smartphones now support Airtel VoLTE, and notably, most of the Xiaomi devices released in 2017 now supports VoLTE on Airtel network. Sadly, the support is yet to be rolled out for Xiaomi Redmi 4 and Redmi 4A.

As per the updated list, the Xiaomi Redmi 5A, Mi Mix 2, Mi A1, Redmi Y1, Redmi Y1 Lite, Mi Max 2 now has Airtel VoLTE support. As stated, OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T users can use Airtel VoLTE service from now.

Currently, Reliance Jio and

Bharti Airtel are offering VoLTE services in India. While Reliance Jio has pan-India VoLTE coverage, Airtel is offering VoLTE service in a few key services. However, unlike Reliance Jio, Airtel has to separately rollout support for each device manually. Airtel VoLTE services are already available on wide range of smartphones from brands such as Apple, Samsung, Oppo, Vivo, Gionee, Nokia, etc.

At the moment, Airtel is offering VoLTE services in Mumbai, Maharashtra, Goa, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh & Telangana, Karnataka and Chennai. And more recently, Airtel VoLTE service was rolled out in Coimbatore.

In order to avail VoLTE service on any supported device, you will have to get an Airtel 4G SIM or upgrade your existing connection to 4G from the nearest Airtel service centre. Also, even in the areas where Airtel is offering VoLTE, you may not receive VoLTE right away as the service availability depends on the area where you’re living in.

Airtel promised to roll out pan-India VoLTE services by the end of March 2018. Vodafone India also expected to launch VoLTE this month, which will be followed by Idea Cellular early next month.
