After a waiting period of several months, Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge are finally getting updated to Android 7.0 Nougat. For now, the update is being rolled out to the users enrolled in Samsung’s Nougat beta program. Even though the beta program had been shut down in December but the existing users are getting the privilege of getting the taste of Nougat first.
The update will soon be rolled out to other non-beta users of the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge. The size of the current update is 215MB, and it also contains the security patches for January. As per the changelog, the update brings various features such as multi-window support, UX and performance fixes, improved notifications and Quick Settings button, improved always-on display, Effiecient space for installation of downloaded apps, improved system speed and much more.
With Nougat update, both the Galaxy S7 devices jump to the version number NDRD90M.G935FXXU1DPLT. It also brings significant changes in the TouchWiz UI on the devices. As we mentioned above, the update will not be limited to just beta users; Samsung will soon be rolling it out to the regular users of Galaxy S7 and S7 edge. For the users who were involved in the beta program, we recommend installing the update on a stable internet connection.
