Xiaomi has started rolling out MIUI 11 stable update to the Redmi Note 8 Pro users in India much ahead of the promised rollout date. The Redmi Note 8 Pro is part of Xiaomi's Phase-4 devices promised to get the update at the end of December. But few users of the newly launched Xiaomi phone started posting the MIUI 11update arrival on their smartphone. At the moment, Xiaomi did not officially confirm the update rollout for the Redmi Note 8 Pro and we're expecting it to be a staged update available right now only to select users of the best smartphone under Rs 15,000. The Redmi Note 8 Pro was launched exactly a month and it runs MIUI 10.4 out of the box. Few users of the Redmi Note 8 Pro are posting screenshots of the MIUI 11 update arrival on Mi Community.

MIUI 11 for Redmi Note 8 Starts Rolling Out

When Xiaomi announced the rollout schedule of MIUI 11 to its smartphones, several users were disappointed as the Redmi Note 8 Pro will only get the update in the last week of December. This surprised many because the Redmi Note 8 which launched alongside the Note 8 Pro was promised to get the update in mid-November (Redmi Note 8 is getting the MIUI 11 update already in India). Nevertheless, some users of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro is already getting the stable MIUI 11 update in India, according to a user post on Mi Community.

In the same thread, several Note 8 Pro users confirmed that they received the update as well, but it vanished after a while. That said, there are chances that this might be an accidental rollout from the Chinese company or the update rollout may have begun for select users only.

As for the update details, the OTA weighs around 550MB in size and it's still based on Android 9 Pie. So it seems like the Redmi K20 Pro will be the only Xiaomi phone running Android 10 going into 2020. Everyone expected that the delay in MIUI 11 rollout to the Redmi Note 8 Pro could be due to Android 10, but that's not the case.

Redmi Note 8 Pro Likely to Get a Snapdragon 730G Variant

In other news, Xiaomi may launch a new variant of the Redmi Note 8 Pro with Snapdragon 730G chipset in China. According to a tweet by Xiaomishka (@xiaomishka), two new models numbers (M1912G7BE and M1912G7BC) of the Note 8 Pro with Snapdragon 730G chipset received 3C certification. It will be interesting to see when Xiaomi launches this new variant of the Note 8 Pro. We may not see the new variant coming to the Indian market anytime soon as the Redmi Note 8 Pro with MediaTek Helio G90T is just a month old in the sub-continent.

MediaTek Helio G90T is the powerful chipset under Rs 15,000 right now (excluding the Snapdragon 845 SoC). The Redmi Note 8 Pro is a great performer even when we push the device beyond its limits. But the usage of Snapdragon 730G chipset will allow Xiaomi to compete with the rivals better. For example, Realme is all set to launch the Realme XT 730G or Realme X2 in India on November 20 or in early December which will take on the Redmi Note 8 Pro and the Redmi K20 smartphones.

The Realme XT 730G has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G chipset and the Oppo spin-off may undercut the Redmi K20 by a small margin by launching the device at a starting price of Rs 19,999.
