Technical Issue Behind Update's Delay

HMD Global’s Chief Product Officer, Juho Sarvikas tweeted via his official Twitter handle that the team over at Nokia had been working on the Android 9 Pie update for the Nokia 8, but due to an unresolved technical issue, the rollout of the update has been delayed. Juho in his tweet said that the update has been delayed by a “couple of more days”.

Juho’s tweet read, “We have been burning the midnight oil to get your Nokia 8 on Android Pie. Unfortunately, we still have few issues to address and need a couple of more days to make it perfect. Thank you for your patience.”

At the time of the launch, the Nokia 8 was the flagship offering by HMD Global. Initially, the Nokia 8 debuted last October, and it booted Android 7.1 onboard.
