HMD Global is preparing a new smartphone, namely, the Nokia 6.1 Plus, which will be a superior version of the Nokia 6.1. The Nokia 6.1 Plus is listed on Google's ARCore website, under the supported list of smartphones. Besides the name, we don't have any information related to the smartphone, and this is the first time we're hearing the name of the handset. In the past, we heard rumours about the Nokia 5.1 Plus smartphone, but now, it seems like HMD Global is also working on the successor to the Nokia 6.1. For the unaware, the Nokia 6.1 or Nokia 6 (2018) was released earlier this year at the MWC 2018 and is currently available for purchase in India for Rs 16,999 and Rs 18,999.

The Nokia 5.1 Plus is also rumoured to be launched as Nokia X5 in China. So there are some chances that the Nokia 6.1 Plus could be the international version of the Nokia X6, which was launched in China last month. Also, the smartphone will have support for ARCore right out of the box. Other Nokia devices listed on the ARCore supported list of smartphones are Nokia 6.1, Nokia 7 Plus and the Nokia 8 Sirocco. Other low-end Nokia devices such as the Nokia 5.1, Nokia 3.1 are not mentioned in the list.

Having said that, we don't have any information released to the Nokia 6.1 Plus at the moment, but we do have some information related to the Nokia 5.1 Plus or the so-called Nokia X5. The smartphone will feature a 5.86-inch display with a notch on top and 19:9 aspect ratio.

A 2.0 GHz processor will be powering the handset, coupled with 3GB/4GB/6GB of RAM and up to 64GB of internal storage. It will have a primary 13MP camera on the rear and a 5MP secondary shooter. A 3000mAh battery will be backing the Nokia X5. The Nokia 5.1 Plus could be the moniker for international markets, while the same handset could be released as Nokia X5 in the Chinese market. Likewise, the Nokia X6 with Snapdragon 636 SoC might be released as Nokia 6.1 Plus in global markets such as India.
