MTS Opens 10 New Stores in Maharastra, Rebrands as MITRA Stores

India's pure-play CDMA mobile and data service provider Sistema Shyam Teleservices, which operates under MTS India brand, has extended its retail network in Maharastra, as it opens 10 more stores in Airoli (Dighe), Vashi, Kurla, Govandi, Byculla, Mahim, Wadala, Mumbra, Bhandup and Santacruz, to provide one-stop solutions to its subscribers.

MTS rebrands its stores as MITRA, which means friend. Also MITRA stands for M = Mobile services, I = Internet support, T = Telecom solutions, R = Recharges/payments, A = Accesories. This initiative is a significant part of Company’s strategy to engage and connect its customers across India.At present MTS has more than 1,500 MITRA stores across India.

Ashoo Sethi, Chief Operating Officer, Mumbai Circle, MTS India, said “I am delighted to announce the launch of 10 new MITRA retail stores across Mumbai. This launch is in sync with our strategy to “Think Global Act Local”. Targeting semi urban and rural locations; MITRA stores are designed to provide all MTS Voice and Data solutions to our customers backed by unmatched tariffs. Mumbai continues to be an important market for MTS and MITRA stores will further strengthen our presence in the region by taking our services closer to our customers”.
