Motorola P30: Top Features Which Make it Stand Out in the Mid-Range Segment

Follow Us

Until now Motorola has been known to stick to conventional and dated designs for its phones. However, with the launch of the latest P30 mid-range smartphone in China, Motorola seems to be changing things a bit. The latest Motorola P30 comes with a wide iPhone X like notch and edge to edge display, something that we haven’t yet spotted on other Moto phones before. Although Motorola is late to join the notch display league, this new mid-ranger marks the start of a new series of smartphones by the company. Unlike other phones which come with a narrower notch, the P30’s notch isn’t really shy in taking quite a handful of space across the top edge. However, readers should note that the phone has been launched only in China as of now. Below are the top features of the Motorola P30 which might make it worthy of your attention.

Motorola P30

Motorola P30: Display
The Motorola P30 sports a 19:9 aspect ratio 6.2-inch Full HD+ (2248×1080) display. The screen comes layered with 2.5D curved glass on top, and the top edge sports the iPhone X like notch. The phone has a large display which strikes the eye.

Motorola P30: Design and Build
Motorola has long been a brand known to make rock solid phones which can withstand the test of time. The Motorola P30 seems to inherit a few of these traits as the phone has been moulded with aluminium frame and glass on both the front and back. As per Motorola’s claims the device comes with nano-coating which makes it water resistant. There is ceramic on the rear of this device, and the colour options include white, black and a purple + blue gradient colour option which is an aurora variant similar to the one seen on Huawei P20 Pro and Honor 10.

Motorola P30: Performance and Software
The P30 boots the Lenovo ZUI 4.0 skin on top of Android Oreo and the hardware on this device includes the Snapdragon 636 chipset with Adreno 509 GPU. The RAM on this device is a 6GB stick which pairs with two storage variants of 64GB and 128GB, both of which come with the option of expansion via microSD card. Also, the phone comes with a 3000mAh battery along with 18W fast charging support.

Motorola P30: Cameras
In the camera and imaging department, the P30 sports a dual rear camera setup with a 16MP + 5MP sensor and f/1.8 aperture, AI portrait mode, scene recognition, AR mode and LED flash. Whereas, on the front, the phone houses a 12MP sensor with LED flash and face unlock capability.

Motorola P30: Price and Availability
The Lenovo owned brand has advertised the phone as being “designed for China”, this hints that for now, the Motorola P30 is going to stay limited to the Chinese market. The price tag for this phone has been pegged at CNY 2,099 (approx. Rs 21,300) for the entry-level variant whereas at CNY 2,499 (approx. Rs 25,400) for the 128GB model. The sales of the phone start on September 15, and there is no news of the phone’s launch in India presently.
