Motorola Seems to Be Working On an Android Go Smartphone With 1GB of RAM

Motorola is in all sorts of trouble as the company is not releasing new products at a faster pace like other manufacturers. The Lenovo-owned company seems to be working on an Android Go smartphone with low-end hardware as a Motorola smartphone with model number- XT1920 has been certified by Federal Communications Commission (FCC). As per the listing found on the FCC, the Motorola XT1920 will come with 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. This memory configuration is enough to suggest that the smartphone will be an entry-level one and could be the company's first Android Go smartphone. Furthermore, the smartphone is listed to feature a 2120mAh battery with no support for fast charging.

Another set of FCC documents revealed the XT1920 would have support for Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Cat.10 LTE modem and Bluetooth 4.0. The dimensions of the smartphone are 147.88 x 71.22mm. Other details such as the display, processor and others are not revealed by the FCC listing.

Motorola has this low-end series of Moto C, under which it released two smartphones- the Moto C and the Moto C Plus last year. And this year, it's expected to release the Moto C2 and C2 Plus as successors. After all, the Moto C2 could be the smartphone FCC certified. In the past, the same XT1920 smartphone was certified by Wi-Fi Alliance and Bluetooth SIG, meaning the launch of the device is around the corner.

As stated, Motorola is all over the place this year with no major smartphone launches. So far in 2018, it released four devices- the Moto G6, Moto G6 Plus, Moto G6 Play and the Moto Z3 Play. Except for the Moto Z3 Play, the Moto G6 devices are not up to the mark. Also, it seems like Motorola is working on a mid-range Android One smartphone dubbed as Motorola One Power with Android 8.1 Oreo and Snapdragon 636 Mobile Platform. It will be interesting to see how Motorola battles out the competition in the second half of 2018.
