Moto G7 Play EEC Listing Suggests Android 9 Pie Out of the Box

As rumoured for a long time, Lenovo’s sub-brand Motorola is trying very hard to make the upcoming year better. Sadly, 2018 wasn’t a good one for Motorola, which is why the company has already started working on the Moto G7 series to launch in 2019. Possibly, as far as the rumours suggest, at the beginning of 2019. Under the Moto G7 series, Motorola is expected to launch the usual four models – the Moto G7, Moto G7 Play, Moto G7 Power and Moto G7 Plus. Last week details of the Moto G7 were leaked online, and now a new report brings information regarding the Moto G7 Play. The new report informs that the Moto G7 Play has made its way to the EEC certification site, this otherwise suggests that the launch of the phone is imminent.

The EEC listing shows the smartphone with a model number XT1952-1. The listing goes in line with the old rumours and suggests that the Moto G7 Play will be the cheapest model of all the G7 series phones. The pricing, however, is yet to be revealed by the company, in fact, Motorola is yet to confirm the four Moto G7 series smartphones.

Moto G7 Play to Boot Android 9 Pie Out of the Box

Sadly, the EEC listing doesn’t show much about the alleged Moto G7 Play. The certification listing reveals only a few details about the smartphone. It shows the Moto phone with model number XT1952-1 running on Android 9 Pie software. Interestingly, this will be the first Motorola phone to come with Android 9 Pie out of the box. This is all the EEC listing revealed about the upcoming Moto G7 Play. Maybe all the Moto G7 devices will come with Android 9 Pie right out of the box.

Moto G7 Play Already Received FCC Certification

To recollect, the same smartphone made its way to the FCC certification site previously which revealed some new information about the Moto phone. The FCC listing revealed that the Moto G7 Play would be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 632 chipset compared to the Moto G6 Play which is backed by Snapdragon 430. This also means that compared to the Moto G6 Play, the Moto G7 Play will be a much-enhanced version as far as the performance department is concerned. The FCC listing further revealed that the Moto G7 Play would be backed by an unimpressive 2820mAh battery which is surprisingly much smaller than the 4000mAh battery found inside the Moto G6 Play.

Previously, some images of the Moto G7 Play also surfaced online which revealed that the smartphone would come with a notched display which will equip the selfie camera (single), earpiece and the sensors. The images also reveal that the smartphone will come with a single rear camera, a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor which will sit inside the Moto logo. The phone will also include a USB Type-C port and a hybrid dual SIM slot.
