Finally, we have some sort of believable evidence on Motorola’s upcoming Moto G6 Play smartphone. The Moto G6 Play today paid its visit on Geekbench benchmarking site, which revealed the key specifications of the smartphone. Like it rumoured earlier, the Moto G6 Play will be powered by the two-year-old Snapdragon 430 chipset, but on the brighter side, it will boot Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box. Also, the G6 Play will arrive with 3GB of RAM, but there might be another 2GB RAM variant as well because Motorola is reportedly scrapping the entry-level Moto C series.

So the Moto G6 Play will be the smaller model in the Moto G6 series consisting of Moto G6 and Moto G6 Plus smartphones. The Moto G6 Plus is said to arrive with Snapdragon 630 chipset, whereas the Moto G6 is rumoured to come with Snapdragon 450 chipset. And both the leaks came from reliable sources earlier.

The Moto G6 Play will surely be a disappointment in 2018, but Motorola is said to be adding the trendy 18:9 display to the phone. The G6 Play, as per earlier rumours will feature a 5.7-inch HD+ 18:9 on the front. There will be Motorola branding below the display, and the rear side of the phone will have a single camera. Also, the fingerprint scanner is said to be incorporated into the Moto dimple at the back, which is a long-requested implementation.

Recently, the Moto G6 Play was certified with 4000mAh battery on board, meaning it will deliver two days worth of battery life with ease. At the back of the phone, there will be a 12MP single camera, which is rumoured to accompany the 8MP selfie camera. Both the cameras come with support for LED flash.

Pricing and colour options of the Moto G6 Play were leaked online too. The Moto G6 Play will arrive in three colour options- Dark Charcoal, Deep Blue and Gold and expected to carry a price tag of $190 (approx. Rs 12,300). The launch date of the Moto G6 series is still unknown but with almost all the Moto G6 smartphones receiving necessary certifications, there’s a chance of the phones making an appearance at the MWC 2018 event next week.
