Mi Smart Band 4 With AMOLED Display and 20-Day Battery Life Debuts in India for Rs 2,299

At its Smarter Living 2020 event in Bengaluru, Xiaomi India announced the much-awaited Mi Smart Band 4 as the successor to Mi Band 3. Yes, Xiaomi is calling the Mi Band 4 as Mi Smart Band 4 in India because it comes with several smart band features this time around. To recall, the Mi Smart Band 4 was first launched in China back in June 2019 and it took the company three months to bring the fitness device to the Indian market. Alongside the Mi Smart Band 4, the Chinese company also launched three new Mi TVs, Mi Water Purifier and other devices. Xiaomi also stated that it sold more than five million IoT devices in India since the first Mi Band launch back in 2015. The Mi Smart Band 4 can be purchased for Rs 1,999 via Amazon India.

Xiaomi Mi Smart Band 4: Features Detailed

The Mi Smart Band 4 is a significant upgrade over the Mi Band 3 that was launched in India exactly a year ago. The latest smart band from Xiaomi features a 39.9% bigger display compared to its predecessor, and this around, the panel is also an AMOLED one. On top of the screen, there’s a 2.5D curved glass as well which adds up for the overall look of the band. The Mi Smart Band 4 has a resolution of 240 by 120 pixels. The display is said to be five times brighter than the one we saw on the Mi Band 3.

In India, the Mi Smart Band 4 lack NFC support, similar to its predecessors that were launched in India. In China, the Mi Band 4 arrived in two variants- one with NCF and one without NCF, but in India, Xiaomi is launching only the variant without NCF. The Mi Smart Band 4

sports a six-axis high-precision sensor that intelligently detects different types of swimming strokes like Backstroke, Butterfly Storke, Medley and so on.

Also, Xiaomi says the Mi Smart Band 4 comes with 15 different sport modes like walking, outdoor running, indoor running, swimming, cycling and exercise. There’s a dedicated sleep tracking mode as well.

Furthermore, the Mi Smart Band 4 also has a bigger battery compared to the Mi Band 3 and the company promises a battery life of up to 20 days depending on the usage. Xiaomi has also upgraded the entire user interface and the band now allows users to control music on the display. There are four more strap colours alongside the standard Black strap. This time around, Mi Smart Band 4 users can set their face as band face through the Mi Fit app.

To recall, the Xiaomi Mi Band 3 was launched in India for Rs 1,999, but this year’s Mi Smart Band 4 will be available for purchase at Rs 2,299. The first sale of the Mi Smart Band 4 will take place on Amazon India, Mi.com and Mi Home stores at 12 PM on September 19.

The Mi Smart Band 4 takes on the Honor Band 5 and Samsung Galaxy Fit e which are available for over Rs 2,500 in the country.
