There's no denying the fact that LG is working on the successor to the LG V20, the LG V30, which would feature the same High Vision 18:9 wide display as the LG G6. The South Korean smartphone giant usually releases a new 'V' series smartphone just after the conclusion of IFA event in September. But this year, LG is rumoured to announce the V30 at the IFA 2017 event itself.

A report from Korean media says that LG will hold a keynote event on August 31 to announce the product and will showcase it at the mega event in Berlin. The LG V30 will boast of top-end hardware, and the report also revealed the price, pre-order dates, and a purported image as well.

The report further claims that "LG Electronics has enough confidence that V30 has enough value as a strategic Smartphone that can go after global markets." That said, LG might be looking to make a streamline product announcement at the global events. For the uninitiated, LG releases a new 'G' series smartphone at the Mobile World Congress event every year, and from now, it's looking to announce the V series of phones at the IFA event every year.

It's also said that the LG V30 will be up for pre-order in South Korea right after the official launch. It would be the first time an LG V series phone is going for pre-order. LG did not conduct any pre-order program for the LG V10 and LG V20. The pre-order program might run for a week or two via three South Korean mobile network provider after the Unpacked event.

The LG V30 is speculated to carry a price tag of 800,000 KRW ($699.98) for the 64GB variant. Having said that, the V30 might be the first LG smartphone to sport an OLED panel and bezel-less design.

As mentioned earlier, the V30 will have the same Full Vision display as the LG G6, and the image posted today in this leak shows a secondary display right at the top of the phone. The LG V series is known for the secondary display, placed above the primary one.

"LG Electronics also changed V30’s design. V30 is going to be applied with a bezel-less design just like G6 and have a totally different design compared to previous V series," says the report.

The smartphone will feature a dual camera at the back and will come equipped with a 3200mAh battery under-the-hood. The phone will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC; some rumours say there might be the Snapdragon 836 SoC powering it.

Carrying the legacy of previous LG V series phones, the V30 will be equipped with ESS’ new Quad DAD, which has better audio qualities. LG is not looking to ditch the 3.5mm headphone jack as of now, and the device will come in three storage options- 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB. Google has already confirmed that the LG V30 will have support for Daydream, which requires more RAM. So, expect the V30 to pack 6GB of RAM.
