LG Q6+ Confirmed to Launch in India on September 5th as an Offline-Exclusive Model

South Korean electronics brand, LG Electronics recently announced the mid-range LG Q6 smartphone for Rs. 14,999 in India. However, LG launched three variants of the Q6 in other markets- LG Q6a, LG Q6, and LG Q6+. LG is now going to launch the bigger variant, LG Q6+ in India on September 5.

This news was revealed by the Mumbai retailer Mahesh Telecom. The retailer also confirmed that the Q6+ will be an offline exclusive model, unlike the LG Q6, which is being sold exclusively online on Amazon India. LG impressed everyone by pricing the Q6 at Rs. 14,990. However, the rumoured price of the Q6+ is said to be Rs. 17,990, which will be on the steeper side considering the specs it offers.

The LG Q6 brings in the marquee feature of the G6, a Full Vision display with an unusual aspect ratio of 18:9. The Q6+ also features the same 5.5-inch FHD+ display with a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels. With the LG Q6, LG is offering a one-time free replacement of the screen if broke it within 6 months of purchase of the phone.

The device boasts of 7000 series aluminium build and a shock-dispersing design. Although the phone comes with a facial recognition technology and has gone through the military-grade MIL-STD 810G test, it is not IP68 certified for dust and water resistance. The handset also lacks a fingerprint sensor, which has become a mandatory feature in all smartphones of late.

The difference between LG Q6 and Q6+ is in the RAM and internal storage. The Q6+ has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The LG Q6 arrived with just 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. However, the Q6+ is powered b the same octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 chipset. The smartphone has a 3000mAh battery.

Camera wise, the Q6+ has a single 13MP camera at the back, paired with a 5MP front-facing camera. On the software front, the device runs on the Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box with LG UX 6.0 skin on top and comes with connectivity options like 4G LTE support, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
