South Korean electronics company, LG has launched its flagship smartphone, the LG G7+ ThinQ in India. Understanding the current market scenario, LG has unveiled the G7+ ThinQ in the sub-continent at a super aggressive price of Rs 39,990, which puts the device against the likes of the OnePlus 6 and Vivo Nex. The LG G7+ ThinQ boasts of AI dual rear cameras, Snapdragon 845 chipset under the hood and various other features. For the unaware, the G7+ ThinQ was unveiled in the US in May 2018 with a steep price tag, but in India, LG has priced the device very sensibly. It will be interesting to see how the LG G7+ ThinQ performs in the country.

LG G7+ ThinQ Specifications and Features
The LG G7+ ThinQ is a flagship smartphone coming out as a successor to the LG G6 that was launched last year. The phone sports a 6.1-inch Quad HD+ FullVision display on the front with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9 and HDR10 support. The phone has an iPhone X-like notch on top of the display. LG is touting either side of the notch as a secondary display which can be customised to display music controls; notification icons display and more.

Under the hood, the LG G7+ ThinQ is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset, mated with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. LG has used the UFS 2.1 storage on the G7+ ThinQ. Of course, being an LG handset, the G7+ ThinQ comes with a microSD card slot as well for storage expansion up to 2TB.

Coming to software, the G7+ ThinQ boots Android 8.0 Oreo-based LG UX 7.0 out of the box, and the device is armed with a 3000mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 support.

Moving onto the cameras, the G7+ ThinQ rocks dual 16MP cameras on the back. The primary 16MP sensor has a f/1.6 aperture, and the secondary 16MP sensor is a wide-angle one with f/1.9 aperture. LG is marketing the cameras on the G7+ ThinQ as AI cameras because the camera app comes loaded with a lot of AI features.

The fingerprint scanner on the LG G7+ ThinQ is placed on the rear side. For the users who want to unlock the device from the front, there's the trendy Face Unlock feature. The device supports wireless charging, and it's IP68 water and dust certified too. LG did not ditch the 3.5mm headphone jack on the device.

Another highlight of the device is the Boombox loudspeaker. LG has also added 32-bit Quad DAC for enhanced audio through the earphones.

As mentioned, the G7+ ThinQ in India has been priced at Rs 39,990. Interested customers can purchase the handset by heading over to retail stores or from Flipkart starting August 10.

LG G7+ ThinQ vs LG G6
The G7+ ThinQ is a significant upgrade to last year's LG G6. It brings improvements in every aspect possible- right from the hardware to cameras, there are numerous upgrades. The G6 was powered by the Snapdragon 821 SoC and it has just 4GB of RAM. The G7+ ThinQ, on the other hand, has the latest Snapdragon 845 SoC. Notably, the G7+ ThinQ is one of the affordable smartphones with the latest SD845 chipset.

LG G7+ ThinQ Competitors
The G7+ ThinQ's primary competitor is the OnePlus 6, which is priced at Rs 39,999 for the 8GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard internal storage. There's the Vivo Nex as well priced at Rs 44,990 which also sports Snapdragon 845 chipset, 128GB of internal storage and 8GB of RAM.
