KOLKATA STUDENTS ARE DIGITAL NATIVES:TCS SURVEY

Tata Consultancy Services survey Tata Consultancy survey  reveals Kolkata as highest Mobile and PC penetration metro city the survey was conducted across 14,000 high-school children between the ages of 12-18 in 12 cities across India during 2008-09.

Kolkata has emerged as the metro city with the highest number of students using the Internet/Broadband for information access, as well as the highest Mobile and PC penetration among students .

While the survey also revealed that Delhi’s  public school going kids  are net-savvy and tech-friendly, Orkut and Facebook are the most popular social netwoking web site among the generation next the target group was from socio-economic classification (SEC) A.

The survey was carried out in Ahmedabad, Bhubaneswar, Cochin, Coimbatore, Lucknow, Pune, Kolkata, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Delhi and Chennai for 2008-09.

S Ramadorai, CEO and MD, TCS quoted the Web 2.0 Generation will shape the next phase of India’s growth and success. What this group does and how it interacts with others, its interests and aspiration need to be considered as we all plan for the future.  TCS plans to use some of the findings to understand the next generation better and it will help us not just to find the best potential employees for the future, but also guide us to engage and communicate with them more effectively.

just the truth about kol students. 99% in grade A & 50+% in Grade B school surf regularly forget about others down the line.
