JioFiber Plans Have a Tough Competition from Airtel V-Fiber Broadband Plans: Here is Why

JioFiber broadband plans compared with Airtel V-Fiber broadband reveal that Reliance Jio has some solid competition from the rival telco

  • Airtel is offering an unlimited broadband data plan for Rs 1,999 with 100 Mbps speed
  • Airtel is also offering benefits like Netflix, Amazon Prime, Zee5 subscription and more

Bharti Airtel and Reliance JioFiber have been archenemies since Reliance Jio stepped into the telecom playing field. Previously, Reliance Jio gave a tough fight to Airtel by the data tariff war. However, now with the launch of JioFiber, the telecom operator is giving competition to the Sunil Bharti Mittal led telecom operator in the home broadband sector as well. Reliance JioFiber connection has a solid contender in Airtel V-Fiber broadband plans. Now, that is a question currently in the mind of the subscribers, whether getting a JioFiber connection would make more sense or simply getting an Airtel V-Fiber connection would suffice.

Comparison Under Rs 1,000 Monthly Rental

Airtel currently has the Rs 799 broadband plan for its subscribers which offers 100GB data with 40 Mbps speed. There is also 200GB additional data thrown in the mix. The telco also ships additional benefits like free subscription to Airtel Xstream service. Whereas, Reliance JioFiber is offering 100GB data per month with speeds capped at 100 Mbps. This plan is available for subscribers for Rs 699 only. The subscribers also get the Jio Set-Top Box for free and access to Jio’s gaming, video calling, free landline and apps like JioSaavn and JioCinema.

Plans Upwards of Rs 1,000 Per Month

Moving up the ladder, we have the Airtel Entertainment plan which comes for Rs 1,099 which offers 300GB monthly data and speeds up to 100 Mbps. There is also 500GB additional data valid till 6 months. The extra benefits as part of Airtel Thanks include 3 months of Netflix subscription, one year of free Amazon Prime subscription, ZEE5 subscription, and unlimited calling options.

On the other hand, Reliance JioFiber is offering the Rs 849 plan with 200GB monthly data and additional 200GB of data. The speeds in this plan will also be capped at 100 Mbps. In terms of additional benefits, the subscribers will get the free Jio Set-Top Box, access to JioTV, gaming, landline, Norton Security for five devices and a free subscription to OTT apps.

High-Speed Airtel V-Fiber Plans Outcompeting JioFiber Plans

Beyond this point is where things start to differ a little, as the Airtel V-Fiber plans make more sense. The Airtel Rs 1,599 plan offers 600GB data per month with speeds up to 300 Mbps. There is also additional 1000GB additional data which is valid for 6 months. The additional benefits in this plan again include free Netflix for three months, a year of Amazon Prime subscription, Airtel Xstream subscription, Zee5 among others. The JioFiber Gold plan comes for Rs 1,299 and this one ships 500GB data with additional 250GB data. The additional benefits in this plan remain the same as the previous one.

Lastly, the Airtel Rs 1,999 plan ships unlimited data and with 100 Mbps speed and this one also comes with the benefits of Airtel Thanks including Netflix, Zee5, Amazon Premium and other subscriptions. The Reliance JioFiber plan competing this is the Rs 2,499 plan which offers 1250GB data with 250GB additional data with the additional benefits remaining the same.
