The reason Apple would go for the extra RAM in the Pro Max and not in the Pro is unfathomable. But it might be related to the overall AI experience. Apple said that Apple Intelligence would process most of the information on the device locally, thus, the extra RAM might be useful. But then that should also be the case for the iPhone 17 Pro.
