Apple just took the wraps off its latest generation iPhones in the iPhone 13 series. So soon, reports regarding the next-generation models are coming up. Reportedly, Apple is believed to be in plans to use an LTPS OLED display for at least one of the models in the iPhone 14 series slated for 2022. This model is expected to arrive with an LTPS OLED display with a standard refresh rate of 60Hz instead of a faster 120Hz display.
Apple iPhone 14 Display Spec
As per a report by TheElec, LG Display is in plans to begin the supply of the LTPO OLED displays for iPhone 14 next year. The brand might have another supplier in addition to Samsung to produce the ProMotion display panels for its iPhone 14 series. Notably, Samsung is the only supplier of iPhone display panels for now.
For the uninitiated, the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max make use of the ProMotion display panels with a variable refresh rate that will range between 10 Hz and 120 Hz. Notably, this ProMotion panel will provide a smoother viewing experience for users when watching videos, playing gaming or simply scrolling pages of text.
Notably, the LTPS OLED display on the iPhone 13 misses out support for ProMotion technology. The Pro models released recently sport low-power LTPS OLED panels. Besides Samsung and LG, BOE is also eyeing to supply these panels for Apple iPhones that could be launched in 2023.
Apple iPhone 14 Rumors
From the existing reports, the iPhone 14 series is also said to comprise four models as in the iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 lineups. However, it is speculated to skip the mini variant and come up with a 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Max. The other models in the lineup are likely to be a 6.1-inch iPhone 14, 6.1-inch Pro variant and a 6.7-inch Pro Max variant.
Having said that, we can expect the Apple iPhone 14 series to be launched with a high refresh rate only on the higher models. These devices could not sport a better and improved display than their predecessors.
