We earlier reported that telecom operators are slashing STD call rates across the circles as TRAI, the telecom regulatory body, slashed interconnection call charges. Now, Idea Cellular has revised its STD rate-cutter plan in the West Bengal circle. Revised rate-cutter will give customers to make STD calls at lower rates than the older ones.
In this revision, STV 29 has been revised slightly. It will now give STD calls at only 30 ps/min instead of earlier’s 35 ps/min. However, they have reduced the validity of the pack from 18 days to 14 days.

In West Bengal circle, Idea is quite popular for its value-for-money offerings through special offers. The telco has improved its network in that region in the last few months, and it is also targeting Reliance Mobile users with new offers as Reliance's license is set to expire in November 2015, and customers are porting out to other operators in fear of losing their numbers. In July, Idea alone added 87,925 users in its subscriber base.
