Idea Cellular has revised its Idea to Idea voice Special Tariff Voucher in Kolkata circle. Validity of existing STVs has been increased and new STVs with increased benefits are being introduced. This is the second time this month Idea has reduced its tariff. Few days back Idea had slashed cost of few small 3G/4G data packs and earlier reduced tariff for roaming STVs in Gujarat circle.
Validity of STV 39 which offer local Idea mobile calls at 10p/min has been increased to 14 days from existing 10 days. Idea has also introduced new STV 38 offering local Idea mobile calls at just 20p/min and comes with validity of 28 days. Further, STVs 59 and 68 are being introduced offering Idea to Idea local mobile calling at 15p/min and 10p/min respectively and comes with validity of 28 days.
Idea has significantly reduced cost for local Idea mobile calls at 10p/min from Rs 91 earlier to Rs 68. At the same time, Idea also has reintroduced Rs 91 STV offering local Idea mobile calls at 10p/min now also offer local other mobile calls at 30p/min. However, validity has been slightly reduced to 28 days from existing 30 days.

After supreme court cancelled 122 telecom license back in 2012, incumbent operators ended their price war and consistently engaged in hiking both voice and data tariff. Even after launch of 4G service by many operators data rates remained same as before. However, operators have now started reducing the tariff silently and has declared Jio's entry will disrupt the market.
