India's third largest telecom operator, Idea Cellular today rolled out four new plans for its subscribers in Himachal Pradesh. The company has unveiled Rs. 357, Rs. 697, Rs. 897, and Rs. 1197 plans earlier today. All the plans provide unlimited voice calls, but the data and validity differ for each plan.

Starting with the Rs. 357 plan, it gives 1GB data per day for 28 days; the Rs. 697 plan gives 1.5GB data per day for 84 days, while the Rs. 897 plan offers 2GB data per day for 84 days. Lastly, the Rs. 1197 plan provides 2.5GB data per day for 84 days.

However, the benefits mentioned above will be applicable only if the customer owns a 4G handset. With that said, if the customer doesn't have a 4G handset, he will receive 1GB data with the Rs. 357 plan, 6GB data with the Rs. 697 plan, 15GB data with the Rs. 897 plan, and 30GB data with the Rs. 1197 plan. That said, the validity would be the same as the 4G handset benefits.

Besides the data benefit, all the plans will offer unlimited local and STD calls for the said period. And the Rs. 897 plan, Rs. 1197 plan also offers 100 SMS per day for 84 days, whereas the Rs. 357 and Rs. 697 plan doesn't offer any SMS benefits, which is a letdown.

Idea Cellular also said that these new plans would be open for all users of Idea in Himachal Pradesh. Unfortunately, Idea is offering these plans only in Himachal Pradesh, while the other circle plans haven't announced yet.

These offers from Idea Cellular comes right after Jio's announcements of the new tariff plans of Rs. 349 and Rs. 399. Especially, the Rs. 399 plan is attractive because it's offering 1GB data per day, unlimited voice calls, SMS for 84 days.

To counter Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel recently unveiled a new Rs. 799 plan. The Rs. 799 plan offers 3GB per day of 2G/3G/4G data and unlimited local and STD calls to any network. The validity of the pack is 28 days.

Vodafone also entered the bandwagon with the Rs. 244 plan, under which the operator is providing 1GB data per day and unlimited Vodafone to Vodafone voice calls for 84 days.
