Telecom operators are trying their best to make customers reverify their mobile numbers with Aadhaar. Idea Cellular has now come up with a unique solution, under which it is rewarding the customers who're linking their mobile number to Aadhaar as part of Supreme Court's direction earlier this year.
Idea Cellular is offering a Paytm voucher worth Rs 250 for customers whoever links the mobile number with Aadhaar before November 24. The voucher codes will be sent to the eligible customer before November 29. Customers receiving the code can use the voucher code to book the tickets for the upcoming controversial movie Padmavathi. The movie is expected to be released on December 1.
However, Idea Cellular did not reveal the validity of the Paytm voucher which it will be delivering to the customers. Also, do make a note that the reverification should be done using the biometric verification only. Of course, telecom operators are using only the biometric method to reverify the mobile number. If you do the verification using other methods, you won't be eligible for the Paytm voucher. A total of Rs 20,000 worth movie vouchers are up for grabs as per Idea Cellular.
The last date for linking your Aadhaar with your mobile number is February 6, 2018. That said, your mobile connection will be disconnected if you won't reverify within the announced date.
The Indian telecom operators recently received approval from UIDAI for reverifying the mobile numbers using three more methods. Starting December 1, 2017, customers can link their mobile number with Aadhaar using the one-time password (OTP), using IRIS, and App-based. Currently, the only way to link the mobile number is using fingerprint/biometric verification.
The Indian government also ordered telecom operators to specify the last date for reverification of mobile number, instead of sending spam SMS every day. You can link the mobile number by heading over to a nearest Idea Cellular store.
