Idea Cellular Rs 189 Prepaid Recharge With 56 Days Validity Introduced

Trying to unify its tariff lineup, Idea Cellular which merged with Vodafone India has now come up with a prepaid recharge of Rs 189 which offers benefits for 56 days. To recall, Vodafone also introduced the same plan a couple of months ago and this new plan from Idea doesn't come as a surprise to many. Telcos including Reliance Jio doesn't offer benefits for 56 days with a prepaid plan priced under Rs 200, but Idea Cellular and Vodafone are doing that to lure subscribers. Although it's a segmented offer valid only for select users, the ones who got this plan can enjoy unlimited calling (with a cap), 100 SMS per day and 2GB data for a period of 56 days from the date of recharge. Even Vodafone's Rs 189 prepaid recharge is also a segmented one.

Idea Cellular Rs 189 Prepaid Recharge: Benefits and Details

Diving deep into the details of this prepaid plan, Idea Cellular is providing a total of 2GB data and once the FUP limit completes, users will be charged from their talk time balance. That said, the telco has recently removed talk time recharges from its portfolio and it's currently providing just three talk time plans of Rs 10, Rs 1,000 and Rs 5,000. The plan also ships with 100 SMS per day along with unlimited voice calling benefit.

Do make a note that Idea Cellular will be capping the voice calls to 250 minutes per day and 1000 minutes per week. In addition, the calls will be limited to 100 unique numbers during the validity period of 56 days.

Notably, this is the cheapest prepaid plan right now with 56 days validity alongside Vodafone's Rs 189 prepaid plan. It's not surprising to see Idea Cellular coming up with this plan as it's looking to unify its tariff portfolio with Vodafone since they've merged and formed Vodafone Idea Limited.

Idea Cellular Rs 189 Prepaid Recharge vs Jio Rs 199 Prepaid Plan

Right now, Reliance Jio is the tariff leader even though it revised the tariff plans back in January this year. Jio's Rs 199 prepaid plan offers a user 2GB of daily data, unlimited voice calls and 100 SMS per day for a period of 28 days. Vodafone and Idea Cellular's Rs 189 prepaid plan doesn't even come close to Jio's Rs 199 prepaid plan in terms of benefits, but the validity of the plan is twice the Jio's plan.

Vodafone and Idea Cellular are providing 2GB of 2G/3G/4G data for the entire validity period of 56 days, but on the other hand, Jio is giving 2GB data per day which takes the overall data benefit to 56GB for 28 days. Voice calling wise as well Jio wins the race as it's providing truly unlimited calling benefit, unlike Idea Cellular which restricts voice calls on a daily and weekly basis.

Bharti Airtel also has a Rs 199 prepaid plan as Reliance Jio and it might soon introduce the Rs 189 prepaid plan as well to take on Vodafone and Idea Cellular.
