Chinese brand, Honor has announced a new smartphone in its homeland China. As it teased since the start of this month, Honor has unveiled the mid-range Honor 7X smartphone in China and looking at the spec-sheet, the Honor 7X boasts similar specs as the Honor 9i, which recently launched in India.
Diving into the specifications of the Honor 7X, it comes with a 5.93-inch Full HD+ 18:9 display with a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels and a 2.5D curved glass on top. The smartphone is powered by the octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 659 processor with four Cortex A53 cores clocked at 2.36GHz and other four Cortex A53 cores clocked at 1.7GHz. The chipset is paired with MaliT830-MP2 GPU which takes care of the graphics.
Mated to the chipset is 4GB of RAM module and the phone comes in three storage variants- 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB. Also, there's a microSD card slot for storage expansion up to 256GB. However, it's a hybrid card setup, which means you can either use a microSD card or a secondary SIM card.
This Honor smartphone also runs Android 7.0 Nougat with EMUI 5.1 on top. There's a fingerprint scanner present at the back side of the phone, and the device weighs 165grams. Connectivity options in the Honor 7X include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS & GLONASS, and USB Type-C port. This entire package is backed by a 3340mAh battery.
Coming to the cameras, unlike the Honor 9i which features four cameras (two at the front & two at the back), the Honor 7X has three cameras (two at the back & one at the front). A 16MP sensor paired with a 2MP sensor is present at the rear with the former capturing RGB shots and the latter adds depth to the images. Also, the phone comes with an 8MP front-facing camera, unlike the 13MP+2MP setup seen on the Honor 9i.
As you can see, the specifications of the Honor 7X are similar to the Honor 9i, bearing the single front-facing camera. And the design of the Honor 7X is slightly different from the Honor 9i. The Honor 7X takes a lot of design cues from the Honor 8 Pro (Honor V9 in other markets), especially, from the back, the Honor 7X looks like a smaller Honor 8 Pro.
The Honor 7X comes in three attractive colours- gold, aurora blue, and black. The base 32GB variant is priced at 1299 Yuan (approx. Rs. 12,800), 1699 Yuan for the 64GB variant, and 1999 Yuan for the 128GB variant. The Honor 7X will be launched in India early next year, as per Honor's launch iteration.
