Honor has launched a new variant of the Honor 10 in China with 8GB of RAM, dubbed as the Honor 10 GT. The term GT refers to GPU Turbo technology, which the Chinese company launched a few days back. According to Honor, the GPU Turbo technology increases the performance of the smartphone by 60% and saves battery by 30%. The GPU technology is currently in beta testing for a handful of Honor and Huawei devices. The new variant features 8GB of RAM inside, up from the 6GB RAM we saw on the original Honor 10 smartphone. Honor did not reveal when it's going to launch the 8GB RAM variant of Honor 10 in India.

Honor 10 GT Specifications and Features

Besides the 8GB of RAM, the new variant is pretty much similar to the original Honor 10. The Honor 10 GT also comes with Night Mode, which we earlier saw on the high-end Huawei P20 Pro. Honor did not reveal the pricing of the new variant, instead, it confirmed that it would be up for sale on July 24 with GPU Turbo mode and Night Mode included. So maybe the regular variant of the Honor 10 will also receive these features with an OTA update after July 24.

The Honor 10 is available in India for Rs 32,999 and it comes with 6GB of RAM, 128GB of internal storage. As mentioned, the specs of the Honor 10 GT are similar to the earlier launched variant. The phone sports a 5.84-inch Full HD+ display with a resolution of 1080 x 2160 pixels and 19:9 aspect ratio. Honor is calling the display as FullView display. The fingerprint scanner on the Honor 10 is placed on the front side below the display.

The new Honor GT also offers 128GB of internal storage and is powered by the HiSilicon Kirin 970 SoC. The Honor 10 GT comes laden with Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box, layered with EMUI 8.1. The Honor 10 has a 3400mAh battery inside and ships with 24MP+16MP cameras on the rear. The rear camera has an aperture of f/1.8, PDAF and the camera app includes a dedicated AI mode. Up front, the company has added a 24MP selfie shooter.

The Honor 10 GT could also be introduced in the Indian market at a price of Rs 34,999, but Honor is yet to confirm the same.
