Google has finally rolled out ‘Bill Payments‘ feature to its Google Tez platform in India. Google Tez, which is a UPI-based payment service now allows users to pay their bills with ease. At the moment, Tez has support for more than 80 billers including national and state electricity providers, gas and water, and DTH recharge. The billers on the list are Reliance Energy, BSES, DishTV, and so on. Google also stated that it would be covering all states and major metros in India. Tez also supports Bharat BillPay system, allowing users to fetch the latest bill from the service providers.
The rollout of bill payments on Google Tez platform also comes with a launch offer. For every new biller paying this month, Google is offering a scratch card with which they can win up to Rs 1,000.
The bill payments option is hidden under the New Payment option on Google Tez application. Hitting the ‘Pay Your Bills’ option will take you to the biller page, where you need to select your details. Once you’ve located your biller, enter the number associated with your account to link it to Tez and give it an easy name to remember. Google is also allowing users to select a biller by name.
And for the most part, Google Tez will fetch the new bill and even send a notification to keep you reminded. This feature was announced back at the Google for India a couple of months ago. Google Tez has been a sensation product for Google as it garnered over 12 million users in three months after the launch to the public. For now, Google has limited billers on board, but the search giant is increasing the list every day.
