Google launched the third generation of its Pixel devices, the Pixel 3 and the Pixel 3 XL last year in the country with a hefty price tag. Recently, the tech giant topped up that launch with the debut of another set of Pixel phones which were the toned down versions of the original Pixel 3 line-up and these included the Pixel 3a and the Pixel 3a XL. With this new launch in the market, a lot of the enthusiasts guessed that Google is likely to give a price cut to the Pixel 3 and the Pixel 3 XL, and that seems to be accurate as the brand has announced the discounted prices of the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL in India.

Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL Reduced Prices

Back in October, Google had launched the Pixel 3 4GB+64GB variant with the price tag of Rs 71,000 and the 4GB+128GB variant with the price tag of Rs 80,000. The Pixel 3 XL, on the other hand, was retailing for Rs 83,000 for the 4GB/64GB option, whereas the price of the 4GB+128GB variant of the Pixel 3 XL was priced at Rs 92,000. When these phones had debuted the price tags of the devices were considered to be exorbitant; however, now they have received a price cut in the market and how affordable they have become is another question.

Firstly, speaking about the Pixel 3, we know that the Pixel 3 is available for Rs 52,499 for the 4GB+64GB variant on Flipkart, whereas it is priced higher on Amazon and is available for Rs 58,999. The 4GB+128GB variant of the Pixel 3 also has different prices on Flipkart and Amazon, and it retails for Rs 58,999 on Flipkart and Rs 59,999 on Amazon.

The higher variant of the Pixel 3, the Pixel 3 XL costs Rs 54,999 for the 4GB+64GB option on Flipkart and Rs 55,475 on Amazon. Similarly, the 4GB+128GB variant of the Pixel 3 XL is available for Rs 65,999 on Flipkart and Rs 79,000 on Amazon. These price cuts translate to an Rs 18,501 drop in the Pixel 3 base variant, and a drop of Rs 21,001 for the Pixel 3 top variant. Whereas, for the Pixel 3 XL, the prices have come down by Rs 28,001 and Rs 26,001 for the base and top variant respectively.

Do Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL Make Sense After the Price Cut?

After the price cuts of these two popular phones, the first question that the interested buyers will pose is whether or not they should buy it. To answer this, we would like to say that if you have been eyeing the Pixel 3 series for a long time and you’re a fan of the clean stock Android and the hardware that Google offers, then this is the best time to buy these phones since they now come with a substantial discount as compared to their previous MRP. However, if you are open to other options, then we would recommend that you can get your hands on better devices which justify their price tag even better. Currently, the OnePlus 7 Pro remains the best contender to the Pixel 3 as it offers better performance, faster-charging options, larger battery, more storage capacity etc.
