The Nexus 9 has actually been the last in line of the Nexus devices due for getting the update. The other smartphones and tablets in the Nexus line-up already run on Android 5.1 Lollipop. But well, it’s better late than never. Even Android 5.0.2 came recently to the tablet, which again was much after all its siblings got the update.
Google hasn’t released an official changelog for the update. The update brings with a wide array of performance upgrades, better stability and a slew of bug fixes. The update has already commenced rolling out and will reach devices globally in a phased manner depending upon your region. Usually, the Wi-Fi variants will get the updates ahead of the LTE counterparts. So the same might hold true for the Nexus 9 as well.
The tablet is quite the performer and the latest update will further enhance its performance abilities.
